Narrative:
On final to runway xy; approximately 2500 ft; ptrim main inoperative EICAS warning illuminated. There was a C130 about 3 miles ahead of us and we were slowing and configured for landing. Our backup trim was still functional; but the plane was trimmed for the approach with flaps set at 22deg. We advised ATC that we needed priority to the field as we had a pitch trim malfunction. He told the other aircraft to go around. We landed on runway xy without incident; and proceeded to taxi to the gate.I didn't want to risk a potential go around with changing power and flap settings with only the backup trim.
