Narrative:
During our descent to the airport; we received a baggage smoke annunciator. I identified as an emergency and requested to divert. A normal landing was made without incident. After inspection via visual and thermal imaging; the airport fire department determined that there was no fire in either the baggage itself or either baggage compartment. Upon powering up the aircraft; the annunciator was extinguished and a subsequent system test showed that the system was working properly.
