Narrative:

En route from keann to runway 26R at den, approach control cleared us for visibility approach to runway 26R. No mention made of traffic for runway 26L. Just before switching to tower frequency, he told us to maintain 7500' MSL. We acknowledged and switched to tower. Tower told us to maintain 7500' and called light aircraft traffic at 12 O'clock showing 7000'. We were unable to spot traffic. Tower told us to square base leg to final, which my copilot did. Both of us then observed air carrier Y at our 12 O'clock position, slightly low, turning final for runway 26L. We flew behind him to avoid him and ended up south of the runway 26L localizer. At the same time we avoided air carrier Y, we spotted a flight of 4 fgt's out of buckley AFB below us. We passed air carrier Y about 500' above him and 1/2 mi behind him. To prevent recurrence I recommend approach control and tower ensure we see traffic on visibility for runway 26L before we are cleared for visibility approach on runway 26R. They usually do this, however this morning traffic was light and we were unaware of air carrier Y and were surprised when he was at 12 O'clock.

Title: ACR ON VISUAL APCH RWY 26R PASSED BEHIND ANOTHER ACR FOR RWY 26L AND WENT THROUGH CENTERLINES. PLT COMPLAINS THAT NO TRAFFIC WAS ISSUED.

Narrative: ENRTE FROM KEANN TO RWY 26R AT DEN, APCH CTL CLRED US FOR VIS APCH TO RWY 26R. NO MENTION MADE OF TFC FOR RWY 26L. JUST BEFORE SWITCHING TO TWR FREQ, HE TOLD US TO MAINTAIN 7500' MSL. WE ACKNOWLEDGED AND SWITCHED TO TWR. TWR TOLD US TO MAINTAIN 7500' AND CALLED LIGHT ACFT TFC AT 12 O'CLOCK SHOWING 7000'. WE WERE UNABLE TO SPOT TFC. TWR TOLD US TO SQUARE BASE LEG TO FINAL, WHICH MY COPLT DID. BOTH OF US THEN OBSERVED ACR Y AT OUR 12 O'CLOCK POS, SLIGHTLY LOW, TURNING FINAL FOR RWY 26L. WE FLEW BEHIND HIM TO AVOID HIM AND ENDED UP S OF THE RWY 26L LOC. AT THE SAME TIME WE AVOIDED ACR Y, WE SPOTTED A FLT OF 4 FGT'S OUT OF BUCKLEY AFB BELOW US. WE PASSED ACR Y ABOUT 500' ABOVE HIM AND 1/2 MI BEHIND HIM. TO PREVENT RECURRENCE I RECOMMEND APCH CTL AND TWR ENSURE WE SEE TFC ON VIS FOR RWY 26L BEFORE WE ARE CLRED FOR VIS APCH ON RWY 26R. THEY USUALLY DO THIS, HOWEVER THIS MORNING TFC WAS LIGHT AND WE WERE UNAWARE OF ACR Y AND WERE SURPRISED WHEN HE WAS AT 12 O'CLOCK.
