Narrative:

On 7/X/90, at approximately XA50 local, I was returning from ord on our regular scheduled freight run. After receiving ATIS for dtw, and then being handed off from ZOB to dtw approach control, I requested a visibility approach to runway 3C (3L was closed). The dtw approach controller told me to expect visibility approach to 3L. The approach was continued to pattern altitude for a straight-in approach. The handoff tower controller issued a clearance to 3L for landing. All runway lighting was on (runway edge lighting, REIL's, displaced threshold lighting). Landing continued normal and after landing taxied to ramp. Later that morning upon taxiing reposition, ground controller requested me to contact the approach control supervisor which was done. The supervisor stated I had landed on a closed runway and that action was being taking against both approach and tower controllers.

Title: ATX ACFT WAS CLEARED TO LAND ON A CLOSED RWY AND THREATENED WITH FAA ACTION.

Narrative: ON 7/X/90, AT APPROX XA50 LCL, I WAS RETURNING FROM ORD ON OUR REGULAR SCHEDULED FREIGHT RUN. AFTER RECEIVING ATIS FOR DTW, AND THEN BEING HANDED OFF FROM ZOB TO DTW APCH CTL, I REQUESTED A VIS APCH TO RWY 3C (3L WAS CLOSED). THE DTW APCH CTLR TOLD ME TO EXPECT VIS APCH TO 3L. THE APCH WAS CONTINUED TO PATTERN ALT FOR A STRAIGHT-IN APCH. THE HDOF TWR CTLR ISSUED A CLRNC TO 3L FOR LNDG. ALL RWY LIGHTING WAS ON (RWY EDGE LIGHTING, REIL'S, DISPLACED THRESHOLD LIGHTING). LNDG CONTINUED NORMAL AND AFTER LNDG TAXIED TO RAMP. LATER THAT MORNING UPON TAXIING REPOSITION, GND CTLR REQUESTED ME TO CONTACT THE APCH CTL SUPVR WHICH WAS DONE. THE SUPVR STATED I HAD LANDED ON A CLOSED RWY AND THAT ACTION WAS BEING TAKING AGAINST BOTH APCH AND TWR CTLRS.
