Narrative:

While enroute; in [foreign] airspace; we were given the following reroute: present position direct [route a]. As pilot monitoring; I first entered direct zzzzz intersection and then attempted to build the rest of the route. When I entered [the airway] after zzzzz intersection; I got an airway mismatch message in the scratchpad.according to the high enroute chart; zzzzz intersection was on [the airway] along one other fix. We ended up building the airway manually and continued without issue. In the secondary flight plan we found out that the database did not recognize zzzzz intersection on [the airway]. I entered [a new route with a different intersection] and only the one other fix appeared on the airway.
