Narrative:

During taxi out; we were assigned runway 5R via uniform and charlie from the ramp area. The ramp was contaminated and there appeared several areas of ice in the vicinity. While we taxied slow; I wanted to brake to a very slow speed to make the left turn onto taxiway uniform towards charlie. However upon applying brakes the aircraft started sliding uncontrollably and the white hot panic that I could slide into the trucks parked on the other side of taxiway uniform started to tickle my brain. We hit some areas where the tire gripped and was able to stop; make the turn and creep on towards the runway. Please have the airport operations at ind review their snow and ice control plan per AC 150/5200-30D and see if they can manage this a little better. Perhaps applying deicing chemicals and brooming the ramp like they do with the runway could help. Just saying.
