Narrative:

On PAR final; lost comm with PAR final controller. Pilot was VMC and proceeded visually while attempting to contact approach on local button. Pilot was able to contact TRACON and received a frantic climb straight ahead to 1.8K. Pilot initially proceeded with visual approach for 5 seconds while trying to get clearance to proceed with the visual approach. Pilot then executed climbout as instructed by approach and was passed by a flight of 2 super hornets in the overhead break. Pass was estimated to be 400 feet. Lost comm pilot was not initially visual of the break traffic. Pilot then switched tower frequency and proceeded to land via the visual pattern with no incident.
