Narrative:

Upon pushback in bna; ground control advised an expected departure clearance time (edct) of 10 minutes from push. Not an issue with little traffic and closeout received. Taxi clearance is T4; left; H; runway 2R. During taxi on left; we are running the before takeoff checklist; reviewing takeoff data when the captain stoped the aircraft and realizes that left turned into L8 which is hold short point for runway 31 (which was closed). Ground control noticed and gave us taxi instructions onto runway 31 and loop back around to L7 and pick up left to continue to runway 2R. Rest of flight was uneventful. Ground mentioned it was a common occurrence. A review of the 10-9 shows that although left appears to parallel runway 31; it actually bends left and narrows as it intersects with H. Left as we proceeded turns into L8. Taxiway designation is deceptive. While this was not a safety issue for us; it seems that it could lead a flight crew into a potential runway incursion under the right circumstances (low visibility/night/unfamiliar) and therefore might require some marking or other highlight to the jeppesen chart to prevent reoccurrence.
