Narrative:

The garmin database for IFR airports with only a textual odp; or vector SID with an odp indicated by the 'T'; uses the word 'none'; when the departure for that airport is selected by the pilot. Thus; a pilot who has not done prior departure planning to discover the presence of an odp could be lulled into believing that no departure exists and thus not fly the odp; and contact terrain during the departure. Garmin could just as well publish the letters odp as the word 'none' to alert the pilot to seek the odp in other publications/means.
