Narrative:

Tower advised us after landing that it appeared that parts may have fallen off of our aircraft on the runway. Next arrival was told to go around due to the FOD on the runway. Tower stated it appeared as rubber. Our tire indications were normal. We stopped and asked for an inspection from the airport authority. They initially reported that all looked normal. We checked all systems and noted thrust reverser 1 unlock and low pressure fault alert. We were unable to cycle the reverser. We asked them to check number 1 engine and they noted damage to inboard side of number 1 engine. We did observe a large piece of cowling adjacent to runway and other debris on runway. Airport authority noted no damage to tires; so; we continued taxiing to the gate and shut down the number one engine after coordinating with ramp tower and [maintenance]. Debriefed maintenance personnel and logged in the aircraft release upon arrival. Thrust reverser failure.
