Narrative:
Air carrier X heavy jet reported a close call this evening with what he believed to be an small transport X. A 40 degree right turn was necessary to avoid a situation. Pilot thanked me 3 times for saving his day. I had ny TRACON follow small transport X. While doing this they observed small transport X bust the TCA at bdr, but could not get a tail number.
