Narrative:

When training an agent on the 757 passenger door we are required to have two trainers. One trainer is on the inside of the aircraft and one trainer is showing the operation of the door on the outside. This is to prevent the door from a false latch. We were practicing closing and opening the door for the fourth time when the plane pressurized. The trainer on the outside of the aircraft and the trainer on the inside of the aircraft were unable to open the plane door. Aircraft maintenance was called. The mechanic was there within minutes I explained to him what happened and he advised that the APU was hooked up in a different way because of the extreme weather conditions and this is why the plane pressurized. He left the jet bridge at least three times before coming up and being successful on opening the plane door. While this was happening I did call [management] and explained what was going on. I also told [them] that I kept the crew and my student off the jet bridge until this issue could be resolved.there was also an employee on the plane while this was going on. She was visible upset and the trainer on the inside of the plane was trying to assure her that everything was going to be okay. I did call and request a manager. There was also a customer service supervisor present who was given all the details. The result was that the trainer and the employee received medical treatment.
