Narrative:

I noted unrpted traffic, single engine red/white small aircraft at about our 11:30 position, crossing right to left at our altitude in a left bank. The pomona 4 departure procedure requires several xchks inside the cockpit to ensure compliance with the SID. We also had a high nose up climb attitude to meet crossing restriction at dowst intersection. Thus our time and our restr view did not allow adequate outside surveillance. We advised ontario departure controller of near midair collision. I believe he said something like, 'sorry, I did not call the traffic', indicating that it must have shown on his scope but he did not advise us.
