Narrative:

When aircraft X arrived at [the] gate the pilot stopped momentarily short (about 1-2 feet) of the stop mark (this is a self park gate) then proceeded to the stop mark. When the pilot stopped the first time the driver of jet bridge started toward the aircraft. When [the] jet bridge is parked at the aircraft it is very close to engine 1. The jet bridge driver was already pulling up to the aircraft while the plane was still taxiing. We could have had a collision with the jet bridge or ingestion into engine 1.
