Narrative:

On a VFR flight from luk to dec, R3401 was in my flight path. Approximately 30 mi east of R3401, I contacted ZID on 128.55 and was advised the restr area was hot from 19000' to sea level. At that point, I turned south, paralling a highway on my sectional which ran south of the restr area. I made an immediate turn of 30 degrees to the south after talking to center, then idented a roadway on my chart running south of the restr area and made a second turn to parallel that road. Upon landing at decatur, I was informed by the controller to call ZID and did so. Center claimed they tracked my aircraft going through R3401. According to VOR radials and sectional charts, I could not have gone through R3401. Perhaps ZID radar should be checked for accuracy.

Title: ALLEGED UNAUTH PENETRATION OF AIRSPACE.

Narrative: ON A VFR FLT FROM LUK TO DEC, R3401 WAS IN MY FLT PATH. APPROX 30 MI E OF R3401, I CONTACTED ZID ON 128.55 AND WAS ADVISED THE RESTR AREA WAS HOT FROM 19000' TO SEA LEVEL. AT THAT POINT, I TURNED S, PARALLING A HWY ON MY SECTIONAL WHICH RAN S OF THE RESTR AREA. I MADE AN IMMEDIATE TURN OF 30 DEGS TO THE S AFTER TALKING TO CTR, THEN IDENTED A ROADWAY ON MY CHART RUNNING S OF THE RESTR AREA AND MADE A SECOND TURN TO PARALLEL THAT ROAD. UPON LNDG AT DECATUR, I WAS INFORMED BY THE CTLR TO CALL ZID AND DID SO. CTR CLAIMED THEY TRACKED MY ACFT GOING THROUGH R3401. ACCORDING TO VOR RADIALS AND SECTIONAL CHARTS, I COULD NOT HAVE GONE THROUGH R3401. PERHAPS ZID RADAR SHOULD BE CHKED FOR ACCURACY.
