Narrative:

We were cleared for a hornet one departure out of clt. Locas north departure. First officer or locas south 091 right. He knew then it was the 075 right but failed to tell the captain. Captain was flying and saw localizer-south and interpreted this as locus. Intercepted and started out on the 091 right and almost immediately before the turn was rolled out. Departure said I'm sorry I should have told you. Meanwhile, it was very brief. I took up new heading assigned by ATC of 055 to intercept 075 right to prevent recurrence. Localizer-south should be spelled out north and south localizer-south looks like locus. Its easy to use this at a glance instead!
