Narrative:

At the gate; smoke noticed coming from outside first officer (first officer) side window; possibly from the ground power connection port as a result of ground power chord. We quickly removed all boarded passengers and crew; shut off the ground power to the aircraft and called for the fire trucks on ground control frequency. Our maintenance personnel also came to the aircraft to analyze the situation. We removed the aircraft from service. Myself and my crew along with each passenger continued on another aircraft.
