Narrative:

While taxiing on the centerline of taxiway a to runway 15 at ase; our right wing came very close to the windsock between taxiways A4 and A5. The crew noticed how close we were and I turned left before the windsock. We cleared the windsock; but not by more than a few feet. The wingspan of our aircraft is substantial. I think smaller aircraft should be ok. I did ask operations to add a note in our records about the windsock hazard for other flight crews. Windsock relocation would be ideal. Add a note in airport pilot briefing. Taxiway centerline realignment away from the windsock would help. Have tower warn aircraft with large wingspans.
