Narrative:

The commuter airline I fly for is insistent on stand up overnights continuous duty overnights. We fly late at night to destination, then got 4 hours sleep and then are required to fly 3 trips afterward pushing the duty time to the 16 hours on 4 hours rest. Both myself and my first officer were extremely fatigued to be flying. We accepted the trip only because it was VFR. Had it been IFR the trip couldn't have been completed safely. This is becoming the daily practice for the commuter and is a guaranteed accident waiting to happen. Crews are flying in a comatose state of mind in the chicago area. Although the trip was legal, it should be an outlawed scheduling practice.
