Narrative:
I was on temporary duty at ZZZ. I installed a component on a CRJ700 and signed it off. I missed an rii (required inspection item) on this install. It was not inspected by an inspector nor was an inspector involved with my installation of this component. I inadvertently overlooked the rii requirements in the quick reference guide and the procedures manual. I was made aware of this via a phone call from a ZZZ maintenance supervisor.
