Narrative:

I decided to get an IFR clearance to sac. The first facility I called was sacramento FSS and they told me to call ZLA on the telephone to file my IFR flight plan. After filing IFR they told me to contact ZLA on their frequency of 119.05 to pick up my clearance to sac. My father was with me on this flight sitting right seat. He has 3500 hours and to me has lots of experience. After getting my clearance I proceeded to taxi to runway 29. I received the crepe 3 departure which is used only for departure from runway 29, during my taxi to runway 29, an light transport landed on runway 11 so I had to clear the taxiway to let him go by. At ths point I became confused on which the active runway was and I had a clearance void time and only 5 mins left to get into the air. At this point things went downhill, my father told me to depart on runway 11 because traffic was landing on runway 11 and we were closer to this runway. Well at this point I was in the air, not knowing what I was doing and the controller ased me why I didn't follow the procedure. I said I was confused on which runway I was cleared to use due to aircraft landing straight in on runway 11, so he went ahead and gave me a new clearance. This experience that has happened to me I will remember forever. The problem were as listed, cockpit coordination, who is PIC. Having enough time to study the clearance completely for safety for you and others. In the description of this occurrence, the problem started to occur during the flight planning to leave san luis obispo. In the evening after X:00 pm the tower is closed so it was confusing trying to file IFR to sacramento. Upon getting my IFR clearance to sacramento, ca, with a void time, I did not spend enough time studying the clearance. My father gave my the idea to takeoff on runway 11 which was wrong on my part. In the future I'm going to spend more time understanding what I'm going to do and not be pushed due to a clearance void time from center.

Title: LOW TIME SMA PLT USES WRONG SID FOR DEP AS HE TAKES OFF ON A RWY THAT WAS NOT PLANNED ON. HEADING TRACK DEVIATION.

Narrative: I DECIDED TO GET AN IFR CLRNC TO SAC. THE FIRST FAC I CALLED WAS SACRAMENTO FSS AND THEY TOLD ME TO CALL ZLA ON THE TELEPHONE TO FILE MY IFR FLT PLAN. AFTER FILING IFR THEY TOLD ME TO CONTACT ZLA ON THEIR FREQ OF 119.05 TO PICK UP MY CLRNC TO SAC. MY FATHER WAS WITH ME ON THIS FLT SITTING RIGHT SEAT. HE HAS 3500 HRS AND TO ME HAS LOTS OF EXPERIENCE. AFTER GETTING MY CLRNC I PROCEEDED TO TAXI TO RWY 29. I RECEIVED THE CREPE 3 DEP WHICH IS USED ONLY FOR DEP FROM RWY 29, DURING MY TAXI TO RWY 29, AN LTT LANDED ON RWY 11 SO I HAD TO CLR THE TXWY TO LET HIM GO BY. AT THS POINT I BECAME CONFUSED ON WHICH THE ACTIVE RWY WAS AND I HAD A CLRNC VOID TIME AND ONLY 5 MINS LEFT TO GET INTO THE AIR. AT THIS POINT THINGS WENT DOWNHILL, MY FATHER TOLD ME TO DEPART ON RWY 11 BECAUSE TFC WAS LNDG ON RWY 11 AND WE WERE CLOSER TO THIS RWY. WELL AT THIS POINT I WAS IN THE AIR, NOT KNOWING WHAT I WAS DOING AND THE CTLR ASED ME WHY I DIDN'T FOLLOW THE PROC. I SAID I WAS CONFUSED ON WHICH RWY I WAS CLRED TO USE DUE TO ACFT LNDG STRAIGHT IN ON RWY 11, SO HE WENT AHEAD AND GAVE ME A NEW CLRNC. THIS EXPERIENCE THAT HAS HAPPENED TO ME I WILL REMEMBER FOREVER. THE PROB WERE AS LISTED, COCKPIT COORD, WHO IS PIC. HAVING ENOUGH TIME TO STUDY THE CLRNC COMPLETELY FOR SAFETY FOR YOU AND OTHERS. IN THE DESCRIPTION OF THIS OCCURRENCE, THE PROB STARTED TO OCCUR DURING THE FLT PLANNING TO LEAVE SAN LUIS OBISPO. IN THE EVENING AFTER X:00 PM THE TWR IS CLOSED SO IT WAS CONFUSING TRYING TO FILE IFR TO SACRAMENTO. UPON GETTING MY IFR CLRNC TO SACRAMENTO, CA, WITH A VOID TIME, I DID NOT SPEND ENOUGH TIME STUDYING THE CLRNC. MY FATHER GAVE MY THE IDEA TO TKOF ON RWY 11 WHICH WAS WRONG ON MY PART. IN THE FUTURE I'M GOING TO SPEND MORE TIME UNDERSTANDING WHAT I'M GOING TO DO AND NOT BE PUSHED DUE TO A CLRNC VOID TIME FROM CTR.
