Narrative:

We received mdw ATIS information which contained wind information being vrbl4g16. When requesting [landing] performance data via ACARS; all runways were noted as out of tailwind limit. We requested dispatch to get us actual wind values from mdw tower. Not long after dispatch returned to us with wind values; mdw changed their ATIS to reflect actual wind. I ended up requesting new information and the rest of the flight was uneventful. Raise awareness with the FAA controllers of this issue. Captain told me he encountered the same situation the previous day.
