Narrative:

Level at FL50 in cruise flight. #2 motor started to surge and pop. We reduced power and turned on right wing anti-ice per the aircraft handbook procedure. The engine was ok at idle, but would start popping when the power lever was advanced. We declared an emergency and diverted to phl. Made a normal landing using single engine procedures. After landing the #2 engine started to overtemp and we shut it down.
