Narrative:

At XA54 local air carrier flight xx received taxi instructions. The taxi instructions were understood by myself and my first officer as follows: 'xx taxi to runway 32.' my first officer read back as understood by myself and my first officer as follows: 'roger 34.' taxiing to runway 34 we crossed runway 29. After doing this ATC ground asked what we were doing and that we just crossed active runway 29. We explained to ATC ground that we were cleared to runway 34. He said he told us to taxi to runway 29, not 34. We said that we read back 'roger 34.' ATC ground said all we read back was 'roger.' we then asked if he wanted us to go back to runway 29. He said, 'continue to runway 34.' we continued to runway 34, contacted ATC tower and were cleared for takeoff.
