Working 52/53 with light traffic. Called canada drummond sector for point out on aircraft X. Was told stand by. Waited two minutes. Called again. No reply. Called a third time approaching the boundary. No reply. Called a fourth time; 'I'm going to have to spin him' no reply. Issued a right turn to a 200 heading to aircraft X; which would be a 190 degree turn. Airplane asked for clarification. Repeated the instruction. Got back on the line for point out as the aircraft was going to penetrate the airspace. Drummond finally answered and took a point out and called the aircraft radar for alymer sector. I cleared aircraft X direct to his next fix and transferred communications to alymer.automated hand offs to canada would eliminate the need for manual phone calls on every single airplane.
