Narrative:

After departing from lvk in VMC conditions , I was told to contact stockton approach for VFR advisories by ZOA after requesting advisories from them. I called stockton and was told 'standby'. I called again and was told to 'identify' and I told stockton I was climbing to 9500', my location and destination. It was not busy, however, no response was given to me. Shortly thereafter, I heard stockton give advisories to another aircraft warning that aircraft of a traffic conflict 'climbing through' 6100', noting that I was at that time climbing through 6100'. I began looking, unaware which direction to look and called stockton again and was told to standby. At that moment an light transport Y suddenly appeared at my 8:00 position, closed and was past us in a flash 200' above and 10' in front. I had made an evasive dive and right turn. Light transport Y at some 200 KTS maintained straight and level flight.
