Narrative:
Small aircraft X cleared for takeoff runway 27L, straight out westbound. Small aircraft Y then cleared for immediate takeoff runway 23L (intersecting runways) with an medium large transport on short final to runway 23L. At the time small aircraft Y became airborne, small aircraft X was approximately at midfield on its upwind. Small aircraft Y passed behind small aircraft X at the point of the runway's intersection. Neither of the pilots nor I made any comments on frequency re: the occurrence.
Original NASA ASRS Text
Title: CTLR CLEARED ACFT X FOR TKOF AND IMMEDIATELY CLEARED ACFT Y FOR TKOF ON A DIAGONAL RWY. ACFT PASSED WITH LESS THAN STANDARD SEPARATION.
Narrative: SMA X CLRED FOR TKOF RWY 27L, STRAIGHT OUT WBND. SMA Y THEN CLRED FOR IMMEDIATE TKOF RWY 23L (INTERSECTING RWYS) WITH AN MLG ON SHORT FINAL TO RWY 23L. AT THE TIME SMA Y BECAME AIRBORNE, SMA X WAS APPROX AT MIDFIELD ON ITS UPWIND. SMA Y PASSED BEHIND SMA X AT THE POINT OF THE RWY'S INTXN. NEITHER OF THE PLTS NOR I MADE ANY COMMENTS ON FREQ RE: THE OCCURRENCE.
