Narrative:
Since the [latest] upgrade to jeppesen FD-pro; the ipad battery consumption has increased significantly. For example; I just flew [an hour and a half flight]; the first flight of the day; my ipad battery was at 100% on the way to the airport. By the time I arrived; my ipad battery was at 62%. After flight planning for the next flight; and just prior to pushback; my ipad battery was down to 52%. The other issue since this upgrade is that jepp FD-pro is significantly slower. The 'resuming flightdeck...' message; which was rare before; now displays every time one returns to FD-pro. These issues are not unique to my ipad; it is also happening to the ipads of everyone I've flown with since the upgrade.
