Narrative:

While attempting to land at F71 I encountered a series of events which precluded me from observing indicators and distracted my attention from running my before landing checklist, and I missed the item 'landing gear.' as I was making a power on short field landing approach the warning horn did not blow and I consequently landed gear up. On 3 successive passes I was forced off my flight path by an unk small aircraft y--once on an initial pass above tpa over the field to determine the direction of landing, and twice while established on announced (CTAF) final approachs, in violation of far 91.67(F). I was able to determine landing direction by observing landing aircraft, but I was unable to observe any traffic pattern indicator as I was forced off of my flight path. Consequently, I flew a standard left-hand pattern as opposed to the right-hand pattern in effect. Other contributing factors were inadequate or unobservable wind direction indicators (faded, white ragged windsock on top of a white hangar, a very faded, bedraggled portion of an orange windsock, a very small white object which appears in the segmented circle, which does not resemble any tetrahedron I have ever seen), a complete lack of runway markings, coupled with severe up and down runway gradient, which are not published and create a hazard. While trying to cope with these problems, I missed an item which contributed to this situation.

Title: REPORTER CLAIMS THAT TRAFFIC PATTERN DEVIATIONS BY SMA Y WERE CONTRIBUTORY TO THE REPORTER'S GEAR UP LNDG.

Narrative: WHILE ATTEMPTING TO LAND AT F71 I ENCOUNTERED A SERIES OF EVENTS WHICH PRECLUDED ME FROM OBSERVING INDICATORS AND DISTRACTED MY ATTN FROM RUNNING MY BEFORE LNDG CHKLIST, AND I MISSED THE ITEM 'LNDG GEAR.' AS I WAS MAKING A PWR ON SHORT FIELD LNDG APCH THE WARNING HORN DID NOT BLOW AND I CONSEQUENTLY LANDED GEAR UP. ON 3 SUCCESSIVE PASSES I WAS FORCED OFF MY FLT PATH BY AN UNK SMA Y--ONCE ON AN INITIAL PASS ABOVE TPA OVER THE FIELD TO DETERMINE THE DIRECTION OF LNDG, AND TWICE WHILE ESTABLISHED ON ANNOUNCED (CTAF) FINAL APCHS, IN VIOLATION OF FAR 91.67(F). I WAS ABLE TO DETERMINE LNDG DIRECTION BY OBSERVING LNDG ACFT, BUT I WAS UNABLE TO OBSERVE ANY TFC PATTERN INDICATOR AS I WAS FORCED OFF OF MY FLT PATH. CONSEQUENTLY, I FLEW A STANDARD LEFT-HAND PATTERN AS OPPOSED TO THE RIGHT-HAND PATTERN IN EFFECT. OTHER CONTRIBUTING FACTORS WERE INADEQUATE OR UNOBSERVABLE WIND DIRECTION INDICATORS (FADED, WHITE RAGGED WINDSOCK ON TOP OF A WHITE HANGAR, A VERY FADED, BEDRAGGLED PORTION OF AN ORANGE WINDSOCK, A VERY SMALL WHITE OBJECT WHICH APPEARS IN THE SEGMENTED CIRCLE, WHICH DOES NOT RESEMBLE ANY TETRAHEDRON I HAVE EVER SEEN), A COMPLETE LACK OF RWY MARKINGS, COUPLED WITH SEVERE UP AND DOWN RWY GRADIENT, WHICH ARE NOT PUBLISHED AND CREATE A HAZARD. WHILE TRYING TO COPE WITH THESE PROBS, I MISSED AN ITEM WHICH CONTRIBUTED TO THIS SITUATION.
