Narrative:

I landed to pick up my wife. I then attempted to depart [a turf] runway. During the takeoff roll approximately 55-60 knots I decided to abort the takeoff. I reduced engine power to idle and allowed aircraft to coast to a stop. During the deceleration; the aircraft entered an area of loose soil and the nose gear subsequently collapsed. The aircraft came to a stop nose down on the cowling.
