Narrative:

Spent the morning examining and flying an experimental smyth sidewinder. The aircraft was being purchased by a friend. ASOS reported wind 310 degrees 19 gusting to 27. Started the approach in light turbulence. On touchdown; the aircraft made a sharp turn to the left. I was unable to keep it on the runway with full right rudder and braking and struck a sign along the side of the runway.
