Narrative:

While flying on J80 to etx on 249 degree course, ZNY issued 30 degree right turn, advised that we were 3 mi left of course, and that we were in conflict with other traffic, co-altitude. Altitude in climb, FL220-230 approximately. Cockpit indications showed on course, but CDI was unsteady, varying +/- 1/2-1 DOT width. We advised about course variance, and ATC received similar reports about etx VOR from 2 other aircraft. Recommend flight check of etx VOR.
