Narrative:
While troubleshooting a number 1 engine fire detection system I installed a printed circuit card that I have now determined to not be the correct part number applicable to the equipment code position. While researching the part number prior to installation I was confused by the effectivity. While processing the part for return; I found the correct part number on the printed circuit card that I had removed. Upon research I realized that I had installed a part without proper effectivity.
