Narrative:

Flight en route from dfw/sjc cruising at 35000' had left engine failure with no warning of any kind. I requested FL240 and was given it immediately. I then declared emergency and asked controller for direct to las. We were 200 mi northeast of las at the time. We proceeded to las and made a normal landing. I chose las because of runway length, emergency equipment and maintenance. I received excellent handling from the controllers.
