Narrative:

Noticed #2 engine low oil quantity (8.0 quarts) near end of climb phase. Monitored decreasing quantity and coordinated with maintenance and dispatch. Decided to divert. Fuel quantity advisory message and oil quantity began flashing green at 5.0 quarts. Had earlier requested direct to the airport and informed ATC of our problem. [Advised] approach when oil quantity reached 4 quarts. Landed without incident.it's worth noting that when I initially briefed lead flight attendant she guessed which engine was the problem. They had heard unusual engine noises during taxi and a faint smell during takeoff but didn't think it was significant enough to tell me. I foster CRM between my whole crew but obviously will need to emphasize more strongly that I want them to speak out if they have a concern.
