Narrative:

After a normal takeoff, the aircraft climbed to an approximately altitude of 100', then the aircraft ceased to climb and did not have enough power to maintain level flight for a go around. At this point the decision was made to make an off airport landing because of lack of power and altitude. Since airspeed could not be maintained in level flight a descent was maintained until a landing site could be found. Upon spotting a landing sight (open field) the aircraft was set down approximately 1 mi east of the lakeville airport.

Title: LIGHT GA ACFT SUFFERS PARTIAL POWER LOSS SHORTLY AFTER TKOF. UNABLE TO MAINTAIN LEVEL FLT, PLT ELECTED PRECAUTIONARY LNDG OFF ARPT.

Narrative: AFTER A NORMAL TKOF, THE ACFT CLBED TO AN APPROX ALT OF 100', THEN THE ACFT CEASED TO CLB AND DID NOT HAVE ENOUGH PWR TO MAINTAIN LEVEL FLT FOR A GAR. AT THIS POINT THE DECISION WAS MADE TO MAKE AN OFF ARPT LNDG BECAUSE OF LACK OF PWR AND ALT. SINCE AIRSPD COULD NOT BE MAINTAINED IN LEVEL FLT A DSCNT WAS MAINTAINED UNTIL A LNDG SITE COULD BE FOUND. UPON SPOTTING A LNDG SIGHT (OPEN FIELD) THE ACFT WAS SET DOWN APPROX 1 MI E OF THE LAKEVILLE ARPT.
