Narrative:
After takeoff from iah runway 9 lost both communication receiver transmitters. Briefly able to talk iah departure controller 121.5. Were given a heading of 180 degree 5000' altitude. Unable to navigate on own due to vuh being off the air. Transponder code XXXX for 1 minute. Turning east we were in VFR conditions. Both receivers started to work normally.

Narrative: AFTER TKOF FROM IAH RWY 9 LOST BOTH COM RECEIVER TRANSMITTERS. BRIEFLY ABLE TO TALK IAH DEP CTLR 121.5. WERE GIVEN A HDG OF 180 DEG 5000' ALT. UNABLE TO NAVIGATE ON OWN DUE TO VUH BEING OFF THE AIR. XPONDER CODE XXXX FOR 1 MINUTE. TURNING E WE WERE IN VFR CONDITIONS. BOTH RECEIVERS STARTED TO WORK NORMALLY.
