Narrative:

On descent into bur while on published arrival we were cleared to cross janny and maintain 8000', which we did, even after radar vectors off the published route. Edwards approach was upset because they showed us 1 mi east of janny at 8600' and bur approach had us a mi west at 9000'. We showed arriving at janny at 8000'. After the landing I gave edwards approach a call and talked to the shift supervisor. The concern here is that a victor arwy crossed the arrival at janny and there is a lot of 9000' traffic on that route. Since these arwys are 4 mi wide there is somewhat of a traffic conflict there. Most of this is due to definitions, i.e., intxns are a point in space and victor arwys have width. To be safe here one should be level at 8000' at least 2 mi early. The supervisor also said (company and company) fmo airplanes were a real problem here.
