Narrative:

Fll tower told an air carrier to taxi into position and hold and be ready for an immediate. The air carrier said they'd need a min on the runway to look at the WX off the departure end with their radar (tower in area). Tower said, 'you have half that'. The air carrier said, 'we'll stay here'. Tower said, 'you'll lose your slot, position and hold'. The air carrier said ok, positioned, and was cleared for takeoff. By this time another air carrier was over the approach lights. That aircraft asked fll tower 3 times, 'are we cleared to land?' tower never responded and the aircraft made a go around just prior to landing. A widebody transport then landed and we were told to taxi into position and hold and cleared for takeoff. We advanced power, rolled, and noticed the widebody transport had not fully cleared the runway (its tail still overhung runway 9L). We aborted at approximately 90-100 KTS and used the aborted takeoff brake cooling chart and waited 23 min before next takeoff. Our abort caused a second go around for another aircraft on final. All in all, an unnecessarily fast paced operation.

Title: ACR ABORTED TKOF AFTER NOTICING A PREVIOUSLY LANDED WDB STILL ON THE RWY. THE ABORTED ACFT HAD TO WAIT 23 MINUTES BEFORE NEXT TKOF.

Narrative: FLL TWR TOLD AN ACR TO TAXI INTO POS AND HOLD AND BE READY FOR AN IMMEDIATE. THE ACR SAID THEY'D NEED A MIN ON THE RWY TO LOOK AT THE WX OFF THE DEP END WITH THEIR RADAR (TWR IN AREA). TWR SAID, 'YOU HAVE HALF THAT'. THE ACR SAID, 'WE'LL STAY HERE'. TWR SAID, 'YOU'LL LOSE YOUR SLOT, POS AND HOLD'. THE ACR SAID OK, POSITIONED, AND WAS CLRED FOR TKOF. BY THIS TIME ANOTHER ACR WAS OVER THE APCH LIGHTS. THAT ACFT ASKED FLL TWR 3 TIMES, 'ARE WE CLRED TO LAND?' TWR NEVER RESPONDED AND THE ACFT MADE A GO AROUND JUST PRIOR TO LNDG. A WDB THEN LANDED AND WE WERE TOLD TO TAXI INTO POS AND HOLD AND CLRED FOR TKOF. WE ADVANCED PWR, ROLLED, AND NOTICED THE WDB HAD NOT FULLY CLRED THE RWY (ITS TAIL STILL OVERHUNG RWY 9L). WE ABORTED AT APPROX 90-100 KTS AND USED THE ABORTED TKOF BRAKE COOLING CHART AND WAITED 23 MIN BEFORE NEXT TKOF. OUR ABORT CAUSED A SECOND GO AROUND FOR ANOTHER ACFT ON FINAL. ALL IN ALL, AN UNNECESSARILY FAST PACED OPERATION.
