Narrative:
After takeoff on climb out; noticed captain's pfd had a speed limit tape at 270 knots. Looked at gear indication and noticed on the front panel both main gear showing extended. Nose wheel retracted. Landing gear system 2 was selected at the time. Then the automatic throttle system (ats) disengaged. Tried engaging ats/auto throttles and it would not engage. At this point no ECAM message. Decided to cycle landing gear. All indications were normal when extended. At retraction; same indication; left and right main gear extended. Also; at that time selected landing gear system to system 1. Verified system 2 and 3 on overhead panel that gear indications were normal and they showed all gear up and lights out.by this time we were on with [company maintenance experts]. During this whole time; never did the 270 KTS red zipper limit disappear from the captain's pfd. First officer's pfd normal. When selecting profile; the speed would increase to 321 KTS; so we reverted back to a different mode. After some time we were asked to return to [departure airport]; and we did. We did eventually get the auto throttle back; but noticed that if we selected auto on the thrust rating panel (trp); it would trip the ats lever; so we used a different mode - 'cr'.was asked about needing special assistance and with the cycling of the gear and having all system indications showing gear down and locked; and the drag and noise present while it was cycled; and when retracted the absence of noise and drag we felt it was more of an indication problem. On final approach we considered fly by; but again all three systems showed gear down and locked. One note; maintenance wanted to know whether when switching between system 1 and 2 for the landing gear system check did the speed limit of 270 on the captain's side go away. It did not; we had the limit flag the entire time.
