Narrative:

Aircraft X was descending on the puffr runway 17L transition into apa pointed out to den tower local 2. Local 2 cleared aircraft Y for takeoff and when airborne aircraft Y was barely 4 miles in front of aircraft X and 4 miles was the required wake turbulence spacing. I pointed the B737 out to aircraft X and they were able to maintain visual separation. This could have been closer.I recommend that we stop using the puffr RY17L STAR immediately. It is dangerous and we've had too many close calls with it.
