Narrative:

On climbout from fxe center issued a new heading and altitude. The non flying pilot read back the clearance of 11000' and set 11000' in the altitude alerter. As I was leveling the aircraft at 11000', center asked our altitude. The non flying pilot responded that we were leveling 11000'. The controller said that we were assigned 10000' but continue to climb to 12000'. Non flying pilot acknowledged 12000' and said that he had read back 11000' in his first response to center. Center then said, 'ok, climb to 16000'.' non flying pilot acknowledged 16000'.

Title: ALT DEVIATION FROM ASSIGNED.

Narrative: ON CLIMBOUT FROM FXE CENTER ISSUED A NEW HDG AND ALT. THE NON FLYING PLT READ BACK THE CLRNC OF 11000' AND SET 11000' IN THE ALT ALERTER. AS I WAS LEVELING THE ACFT AT 11000', CENTER ASKED OUR ALT. THE NON FLYING PLT RESPONDED THAT WE WERE LEVELING 11000'. THE CTLR SAID THAT WE WERE ASSIGNED 10000' BUT CONTINUE TO CLIMB TO 12000'. NON FLYING PLT ACKNOWLEDGED 12000' AND SAID THAT HE HAD READ BACK 11000' IN HIS FIRST RESPONSE TO CENTER. CENTER THEN SAID, 'OK, CLIMB TO 16000'.' NON FLYING PLT ACKNOWLEDGED 16000'.
