Cleared for approach 16L into rjaa at 1800 aural warning 'traffic; traffic'accompanied by yellow icon showing -06 at one clock close aboard our aircraft. Visually checked for traffic with no visual sighting. Aural warning 'climb; climb' with red icon showing -05; then -04; then -03 accompanied by 'climb; climb'; again with escape maneuver showing on nd. Captain pulled up and added power. Clear of conflict several seconds later. Reported escape maneuver to tower; they again reported traffic at 1500;. Requested vectors to return for another approach . Uneventful landing 16L.
