Narrative:
Received spurious takeoff warning as EPR came up to 1.6 on takeoff at iad. All flight controls (flaps, south/B and trim) set correctly (5 degree flaps, 5.2 trim, south/B in detent). Cycled south/B and banged top of south/B lever. Advanced power again. Horn didn't come on. Since we were still in normal position for takeoff (rolled approximately 20' on first attempt) continued takeoff normally. Seems to be a trend of these spurious warnings (6 in the last yr).
Original NASA ASRS Text
Title: FLAP WARNING HORN SOUNDED WHEN PWR ADVANCED. BANGED ON SPEED BRAKE HANDLE AND ADVANCED POWER AGAIN. HORN DID NOT SOUND, SO PROCEEDED NORMALLY.
Narrative: RECEIVED SPURIOUS TKOF WARNING AS EPR CAME UP TO 1.6 ON TKOF AT IAD. ALL FLT CONTROLS (FLAPS, S/B AND TRIM) SET CORRECTLY (5 DEG FLAPS, 5.2 TRIM, S/B IN DETENT). CYCLED S/B AND BANGED TOP OF S/B LEVER. ADVANCED PWR AGAIN. HORN DIDN'T COME ON. SINCE WE WERE STILL IN NORMAL POS FOR TKOF (ROLLED APPROX 20' ON FIRST ATTEMPT) CONTINUED TKOF NORMALLY. SEEMS TO BE A TREND OF THESE SPURIOUS WARNINGS (6 IN THE LAST YR).
