Narrative:

I was approaching gate on the main road at taxiway marker 98 when a fuel truck came at my passenger side off of the airplane taxiway. The driver was driving in a no operation zone approaching me quickly. I swerved; locked up my brakes to avoid being hit in a covered tractor. I yelled to get the drivers attention he stopped briefly then proceeded to gate to park his fuel tanker. I approached the driver to explain the near miss in which his only response was I have the right [of way] on the taxiway; the area he should not be driving in. Ramp supervisor 2 acknowledged the incident. Explained I was in the right. Stated he would escalate the concern to ramp as driver should only operate on the road not in taxiway area.
