Narrative:
Everything seemed to be working properly during the preflight. I complied with preflight checklist. First I drained fuel from right tank then left; I found little bit of water in the nose drain; I put it in waste container in hangar then I drained it one more time and there was still little bit of water so I repeated procedure and drained it till there was no water found. Engine was cold so I decided to perform run up checklist at the run up area. I took off and the engine instruments were on green. At 700 feet; I turned a shallow turn to the south-west to proceed on my course. I was climbing at 76 knots with full power. At 1000 feet I performed climb checklist and everything seemed to be working properly. I reached 1;800 feet; the engine started to vibrate; this is when I first warned tower saying 'I think that I have an engine failure'; after reaching 2;000 feet I lost the engine; it started to windmill and was not producing any thrust and I was not able to climb any further. I didn't perform any emergency checklist. I did not have time to do it. I reached best glide speed. Tower cleared me to land on any runway or taxiway. I started to circle next to lose excessive altitude. I was approximately 2 miles from airport. I did two circles and still was little bit above the proper glide path; so I performed forward slip to land. Landed and stopped safely.
