Narrative:

During descent into eld; we were kept high to due thunderstorms east and south of airport. When we passed the weather we began our descent for a visual approach. While on a 4 mile base we had gear down and speed brakes deployed to continue to slow to below flap speed. During that time we got a 'caution terrain' immediately followed by a 'pull up.' we were still at 1300 AGL but we decreased rate of descent and the warnings stopped. We were stable and on speed by 800 AGL. While we maintained a stable aircraft we could have extended on the downwind to give us more time to configure.
