Narrative:

Aircraft ad (airworthiness directive) for helicopter was overflown during flight from a deep water oil rig to lafayette, la. Upon landing ad was taken care of by maintenance. Aircraft was returned to service. Due to bad WX offshore and fog, I was unable to have maintenance complete inspection at oil rig. To stop an inspection from being overflown, we need to have maintenance personnel station back on the oil rig. Too many times it is difficult to get roving maintenance to fly to your location due to WX.
