Narrative:

Far 117 rules are too complicated and allow too much flight time and duty time. I just finished working 9 out of 10 days that according to the computer I was legal for but in my opinion should not be allowed. I blocked 48+57 (it would have been more however the last leg was cancelled); was on duty for 80+01; and had a fdp of 68+11 which is totally ridiculous that DH at the end of the day doesn't count towards fdp. I am still on duty and still at work and not getting any rest sitting around the airport for multiple hours waiting for a DH back to domicile.far 117 rules require a computer to determine [compliance] because every minute; it changes. There is no way that what I did 354 days ago affects me in a fatigue sense today but flying almost 50 hours in a 10 day period definitely does. The old 30 in 7 was much easier to calculate and much simpler to apply. It also was a much more reasonable limit. Far 117 has caused me to be the most tired I have ever been since I started flying. [It] did not help decrease fatigue but did the exact opposite. Rewrite far 117 rules and make them simpler to calculate and more realistic.
