Narrative:

I was the pilot monitoring and the first officer was the pilot flying. We were clear for a visual approach runway 18R dfw. The first officer captured the localizer and glide slope with autopilot on. While we were with localizer and glide slope captured with autopilot on; ATC called with an altitude alert. I replied; 'correcting' and took the controls; disengaged the autopilot and leveled off. At this point I saw the ILS glide slope indicating above glide on the primary flight display (pfd) and the PAPI was showing below glide slope. I followed the PAPI reference for a normal visual landing.
